Boudoir modelling shoot with Cazza
I had a wonderful shoot with model Cazza Hoops. It is good to just try things out - new photography techniques or lighting styles. A paying client doesn't want to be hanging around while you experiment, so these personal shoots are a great opportunity to stretch ourselves.
We started with some simple low-key silhouette backlighting, using some gridded striplight set to the sides and just behind her, with a large white reflector in front to bounce a bit of light back into the shadows. Just moving it further or closer changed the effect it had.
For the next ones, I used just one light with a snoot attached, positioned right behind Cazza, which gave one small point of light, and as she changed positions it gave a halo effect. With a model like her, she could be left to do her own thing with the poses. I just had to catch it as the light hit right spot!

The last set used a screen that I had made from translucent fabric, stretched across a frame, backlit to get more silhouettes, but varying the distance from the screen gave more abstracts shapes. Again, Cazza pulled out a load of great poses and we got some fab images. I couldn't a bit of digital manipulation to put two images into one.
