Birthday photoshoot with Tanaka

Fiona and her beautiful family love to celebrate their birthdays, and have been coming to me to capture the moment for some of the milestone ages!


They usually have a few ideas of the kind of looks they want, and have spent a lot of time considering which outfits they want to wear (usually several changes of clothes are involved) and of course planning hair and makeup.


Fiona booked a 2-hour session so we had plenty of time for these different looks.  


As with all best-laid plans, there was a last-minute hitch so Fiona and family all arrived, realised she had left something (shoes to go with the first dress, I believe) so she went back home to retrieve them!  Not a problem though, as we could make a start with Tanaka by herself, keeping the feet out of the shots!


As well as several changes of clothes, she even brought teeny birthday cupcakes and candles to use as props.

On to the second outfit, with a more casual and relaxed look in clothes and hair, wearing beige linen trousers and cream off-the-shoulder jumper. 



The third outfit was full red-carpet glamourous with a chic black dress, with mum Fiona and sister Ruva joining her.  During our preparation talks she had shown me some inspiration shots with a spotlight effect in the lighting so I including that with this setup.


They loved the photos and they were a joy to work with, and I hope to see them again for the next one!

Business portraits for Jo at Aspen Morgan This job took me over the Humber Bridge to Barton, North Lincolnshire do some business portraits for Jo of Aspen Morgan Counselling & Wellbeing. She's an old school friend, who I hadn't spoken to in real life in many years, and was still just as lovely as I remember. She has her website built but needed some better images for content. She sent me some ideas that she has seen for inspiration, with quite a casual, friendly and warm look, and while we could have done something in the studio, I felt it would be better to do something in a more homely environment, with a natural look to the lighting. Home boudoir photography in the Hull area

  If you are wanting to arrange a boudoir photoshoot in Hull or the surrounding areas, instead of a shoot in the studio, you have the option of having it in your home. It gives a much different look and will give it more of a personal touch. It also means you have access to all of your stuff - all your outfits are close to hand and you are in familiar surroundings. As long as you have a decent amount of space and a relatively uncluttered room, we can make some beautiful photos without you leaving the house. Please get in touch so we can discuss suitability for a home photoshoot. Here are a few example images from a home shoot, using no more than light from the window and occasionally a small flashgun to fill the shadows, though all of these examples were just windowlight. Most of the shoot was done in the window area or on the bed.   We added some interest by with some water.  She got the shirt wet and splashed some on herself .
